lkrecic asked: You had said that drawing a manga is one of the most unrewarding projects you can bring upon oneself. Could you elaborate more on why that is?

These are just my personal opinions which, as always when it comes to art, are subjective and not backed by known facts/education, so please don’t take the following too much to heart:

People compose for many reasons: to become immortal; because the pianoforte happens to be open; because they want to become a millionaire; because of the praise of friends; because they have looked into a pair of beautiful eyes; for no reason whatsoever.

ok so normally I don’t really care about categorizing carciphona based on audience (shounen / shoujo / seinen / josei) because I really didn’t have one standard in mind and I’m not sure about their differences, just fantasy/action/drama and the reader can decide the rest. But sometimes I’m forced to give an answer for sites and I get really conflicted, because I’m pretty damn sure I can’t call it a shoujo manga, but both the story content and the reader gender stats I have show that not many of my readers are guys.

If you had to choose from shounen / shoujo / seinen / josei what would you call carciphona? just a simple answer is fine and please don’t give me tips on how to change my manga into one of the specific categories haha ”’orz that’s not what I’m trying to do. thanks!!

Getting a book printed.

I’ve gotten 3 books printed now; I said I would write a little something after my first book but I kept delaying it in hopes that my subsequent experiences will contribute to the post. Nevertheless, here it is for those who are interested, curious, or in need of help in this area!

OMG IT’S a drawing… too bad it’s just a coloured wip of what I posted before ):

oh shit i used to read this. then i met the creator at a con and she seemed so devoid of any shits to be given i just lost interest 8( too bad.

I’ve always wanted to talk about something like this but I’ve never had a real reason to, but now I do! I used to not talk to or greet people at cons because whenever I do, they run away like their camouflage has been discovered LOL… I just leave people to look at my art at their leisure because I think that’s what they’re there to do. but I’m sure this person isn’t the only one who took it as me thinking I am too good for the general public, because I’ve heard myself being described as some egotistic popular bully artist for reasons I can barely understand. so if I came off as some snob ass bitch to you at a con before, I’m sorry! there’s not much I can do about it except tell you to believe me that I didn’t mean it.

I don’t like to talk, even with my friends, and I’ve been told many times by many people that I look angry when I am not. Sometimes I’ve thought that the fact that I’m paying to sell things at the artist alley, and the ultimate fact that it’s your money that I’m after, would be enough to make people realize I wouldn’t be stupid enough to intentionally belittle my audience (unless you do think that lowly of me). Nevertheless as an exhibitor this is my problem, not yours! So I will keep it in mind and hopefully now that you know, you can look pass my flaws with an open mind, because it’s not something I can change.
