reba-doodles asked: Sorry if I'm being a pain with this question... but regarding what you said to the person who asked you about how difficult/unrewarding it was to make a manga, where you said a lot of the work is in world- and character-building, would you say it would be easier to be making a manga based on a novel you've already written, since you've got the background details all in place, or just as hard because it's still LOADS of work and obviously won't be a one-shot?

you’d be one step closer than starting fresh, but ya there would still be a ton of work. You would also have to deal with changing the story presentation into something suitable for a visual medium because there’s a lot that works in a comic that won’t work as a novel (eg random flashbacks) and a lot that works in a novel that won’t work in a comic (eg characters thinking to themselves)

I don’t mean to make it sound intimidating or be like ONLY THE MOST WORTHY OF SOULS CAN STAND UP TO THE CHALLENGE THAT IS CREATING A COMIC. originally I just said it because it’s like the only useful thing that I could think of that not everyone already figured out lol;;
